How Do Solar Park Lights Work? During the day, photons strike the photovoltaic solar panel. Electrons are drawn from the photons and routed to DC power, then stored in the battery. Greenshine's Smart Power Technology prevents the battery from overcharging. Sensors in the light's electrical components determine when the sun has dropped below the horizon, telling the electrical management system to switch the flow of energy from the battery to the light fixture.
