GEL Battery Replacement · Solar Lighting Fleet Maintenance

Your lights turn on at dusk.
Make sure the battery still can.

A quiet fleet check before winter. Replace the batteries that are due, before they choose the coldest night of the year to fail.

DaylightDuskNightDawn
Where this usually goes wrong

A battery never fails on a calm afternoon.

It fails on the coldest night, in the parking lot with the most foot traffic, right before the one weekend someone finally notices.

01

The dark lot problem

A light that doesn’t come on is a liability question before it’s a maintenance one. Someone has to explain it.

02

The winter truck roll

Emergency dispatches cost more in December than in September. Cold, short days, longer routes.

03

The surprised call

Nobody wants to find out a site’s been dark for a week because nobody was watching for it.

What we actually know

Not a guess. A pattern we can see across the fleet.

We don’t replace batteries on a sales calendar. We replace them on the pattern the fleet itself shows us.

5–7years
Roughly where gel batteries in the field start showing their age. Performance fades gradually, not all at once — this is when it’s worth checking, not a hard expiration.
145sites
Sites across our network entering that window in the next 12 months. If yours is one of them, we’ll tell you plainly — not just try to sell you one.
1season
Winter is our busiest season for battery orders, every year. Ordering now means shipping before the queue builds, not during it.
The actual difference

Reactive costs more than it looks like it does.

Same battery. Same truck. Completely different fall.

Reactive

Wait for it to fail

  • Discovered when someone notices, not before
  • Emergency shipping, emergency pricing
  • One battery at a time, full freight each time
  • Site sits dark until the part arrives
Proactive

Replace on schedule

  • Flagged from the fleet data, ahead of failure
  • Planned shipping, planned pricing
  • Batched with nearby sites, shipping cost drops sharply
  • Swapped on your schedule, not an emergency one
Campaign pricing · Sep 16 – Oct 16, 2026

Two ways this campaign saves you money.

A lower price on the battery itself, and shipping that gets cheaper the more you order. Both are real, both stack.

Prices exclude tax. Freight and installation are quoted separately. Campaign pricing valid through October 16, 2026.

And it stacks with volume

The more you batch, the more shipping stops costing you.

This isn’t a discount we invented. Batteries are heavy — shipping one costs far more per unit than shipping twenty. We’re passing that through, not marking it up.

Why order from Ample

We built the system. We know exactly what it needs.

We built the original system, so we know the exact chemistry, voltage, and capacity it was engineered for. A compatibility review happens before any quote goes out, not after — the same battery model doesn’t fit every system, and getting it wrong is a common, costly mistake with a guessed or third-party replacement.

How it works

Three steps. No site visit required to start.

01

Tell us the site

Site name and approximate install date. If we already have it on file, we’ll confirm it in seconds.

02

We match the battery

Right chemistry, right capacity, matched to what’s already installed. No guessing on your end.

03

It ships before the season turns

Ordered now, installed on your schedule, working long before the first cold snap.

2–3 Minute Intake

Tell us about your system. We’ll confirm the right battery and get your order started.

This starts a review, not an order.

FAQ

Before you apply.

How does the shipping incentive work?

Orders of 4–9 eligible batteries on the same approved order ship free during the campaign period (September 16 – October 16, 2026). Orders of 10–20 units receive free shipping plus a reduced per-unit rate. Orders of 21 or more are quoted individually. Shipping savings scale with order size because freight cost per battery drops significantly at higher volumes.

Does the program include installation or freight?

Freight for orders under 4 units, and installation for any order size, are quoted separately based on the approved configuration, quantity, location, access, and service scope.

What does the 5-year warranty cover?

The 5-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in the battery under normal operating conditions for the system it was matched to. Full terms, exclusions, and claim steps are on our warranty terms page.

What should I do with the old batteries?

Recycling-location guidance is available upon request once your replacement order is confirmed.

What if I do not know the system or battery model?

Provide the installation location, approximate year, quantity, and a description of the issue. Our team may request photos of the battery, controller, cabinet, pole, or system label.

Why GEL lead-acid instead of lithium (LiFePO4)?

The chemistry isn’t a preference you choose at replacement time — it’s determined by how your specific system was originally engineered. GEL lead-acid is used across most of our pole and fixture lines; some all-in-one (AIO) kits are built around LiFePO4 for its lighter weight and compact form factor. A replacement order always matches the chemistry your system was built for; swapping chemistries on an existing system isn’t supported. See our GEL vs. lithium battery technology guide →

Can you supply a battery for a system that isn’t from Ample?

Our compatibility review and approved replacement list apply to systems we manufactured, where we have the original spec on file. For a system built by another manufacturer, we don’t have that guarantee to offer, and matching the wrong battery carries real risk. Send us your site details and we’ll tell you plainly whether we can help.

What happens if I submit the form after October 16, 2026?

Requests submitted after the campaign closes are still welcome — they’re simply reviewed and quoted at standard, non-campaign pricing and shipping terms.
