BVI Begin To Try Some Solar Street Lights
The solar street lights are developing so fast that many people want to try some solar street lights. And many of the giants are begin to enter the solar lighting area. Now, The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labor is moving one step forward in their efforts to preserve energy.
BVI Platinum News understands that the corporation is in the process of installing some four solar street lights on Tortola as part of a pilot project. According to information, the BVIEC will be able to weigh the costs for equipment, installation, maintenance and labor, compared to the benefits of having such a system in place in the BVI. The project which will see the lights being installed mostly in West End is mainly to explore renewable energy options.
There is already one solar street light installed in the West End area and according to information, the light will be used as one of the test run to see the costs associated with installing the lights. This is expected to be completed within a few weeks.
BVI Platinum News also understands that the equipment for the lights is being purchased from China and is said to be expensive.
When contacted, BVIEC officials stated that an official press release will be issued sometime this week to explain the initiative.
If the giants want to enter the area, they will annex some small companies that hold various resources. So, I think the LVI is also looking for some good choices. As the most promising solution to the energy crisis, solar street lights will attract attention from many people.
